Winter stained glass classes are forming! What a great way to enjoy the winter with cut stained glass, fusing small pieces or a mosaic class.  Enjoy the winter evenings making a beautiful colored glass piece for your home. Spring is still a ways off and stained glass is a lovely way to keep the creative side of yourself motivated.
Speaking of Spring, its not to soon to think about your home glass repairs. Leaded windows will begin to bow over years of seasonal change.  We can restore your window to it's original beauty and strength. Custom Designed Stained Glass

The process of creating custom stained glass art pieces can be a wonderfully collaborative one between the artist and the client.  This is an example of a work that has been in process for almost 2 years. From inception to the point we are at today has been painstaking not only due to the complexity of the design and the size, but also the need to continually search out glass that will be the perfect compliment to each section.  We will be making a couple of significant modifications to this piece today to keep at it until we are certain the client will love it as much as we do! We are very close and hope to reach the final stages for glass picks and cuts.

Learning self care through stained and custom art glass creation!

As 2011 comes to a close we want to thank all of our supporters for helping keep one small business afloat.  These are not easy times for anyone and we know that "art", especially custom glass, is not the highest of priorities when it comes to budgeting.  We do feel that one aspect of "self care" during stressful times is having a hobby that you can tap into allowing you to explore your creative side. Stained glass art can be a great way to express your "inner" self and have a beautiful expression of such to display for yourself and others.  The time to self reflect and create an inner calm while working with glass can be extremely satisfying on many levels!

Art Glass Christmas Show Success in Chicago

Well a great time was had by all! The wine was flowing and the glass was hot! Ravenswood ArtWalk was a huge success for Glass Art Designs and has prompted us to add another glass class option! Fusing 101 which will provide an opportunity to learn the basics of creating beautiful small objects including jewelry, coasters, or a bowl or plate.  The link is above and takes you directly to the class schedule but save the dates of October 15 or October 22 from 3-6p to have some fun with the basics of fusing!
